Stock Description: 30 premium in calf heifers, 15 due late summer and 15 late early autumn the last 30 due to calve from a top quality autumn block calving herd. In calf to A Angus. These heifers are very well grown with strength, width and body depth and length. Sired by Genus sires Holstein sire Ryden and Norwegian Red sire Sausvatn. The herd is Holstein x Nordic red sires producing 650kg mature weight cows capable 9000+ litres with high milk solids and good fertility and longevity. These heifers would be suitable for a variety of systems from autumn block to fully housed. The heifers are only for sale as a complete group.
Production Capacity: The herd is performing very well 9000 litres, 4.4% fat, 3.5% pro and 733 kg milk solids from a 650 kg cow. This is achieved on a tight autumn block calving system with extensive grazing in the spring and summer. The genetics would be very capable of higher yields on a more intensive system.
Age & Lactation: The heifers will be calving in 24-26 months of age.
Health Status: Exceptionally well reared heifers to the highest health protocols, strict colostrum management as calves, herd johnes monitored with no high reading cows bred to dairy. Heifers vaccinated inline with health protocols. The herd is in a TB1 area with no major issues.
